Robert Doms Beer

Robert Doms is a response to the growing demand for local craft beers in Ukraine. Our client Carlsberg had a clear idea of the product – Bohemia, Vienna and Munich style beer, brewed with the traditional recipe. Our task was to analyse what craft beer represents to Ukrainians, and to identify the value territory with the most potential for a new brand, that is at the same time endorsed by a large brewery.

Creating Robert Doms meant to define the relationship to Lvivske beer and the role in its portfolio, as well as to create a story that convincingly links the new product, new brand and the Lviv brewery. The brand story is therefore built on the historical figure of the Galician tycoon who owned the Lviv brewery in the 19th century, and his documented passion for beer and travel. The visual identity is in the style of historical newspapers with the theme of Robert Doms travelling through the European destinations in question, which is used on communication materials and neck labels, and then there is another theme of lager barrels, referring to the product, which is used on the main label.

An exceptional end to an exceptional project, such is the story of Robert Doms in a real pop-up book we created just for the love of creating.
